When I step over the threshold to experience what lies behind the façade, I find intelligent concern, perceptive wisdom, and healing conversation. And laughter! The place is welcoming without being suffocating, generous without being demanding, and respectful without encroaching.

My experience at Bethel is always a safe one … I can say that, without a doubt, I have never felt judged, but rather welcomed each week.

I requested counselling from the Bethel Centre to deal with trauma I experienced in the church decades ago. I knew I needed help processing it, and, through Bethel, I received it. Then I experienced a fresh trauma via the church, and Bethel helped me handle that as well.

I received fantastic support from three different counsellors, each one offering me excellent help and assistance. One correctly discerned that I am neurodivergent, and set me off on a trajectory of self-understanding, self-compassion, and a lifelong process of understanding who I am, learning strategies to manage my challenges, while celebrating my strengths.

As I come to terms with my new understanding of myself, I am grateful for the ongoing support Bethel is giving me. Their support means that any ongoing traumas I experience are minimal.

I cannot recommend Bethel highly enough to anyone who has been hurt through their life in the church. The Bethel Centre has provided invaluable support to me, and I am grateful.

My sessions with Bethel helped open up my thought processes. It is good to know that it is NOT always my fault. Being encouraged and coached to discover new ways of looking at a situation cleared and challenged my thought processes, enabling me to solve problems. I was assisted in discovering alternative solutions. I greatly appreciate the freedom and safety simply to pour out my heart and thoughts. Thank you, Pam and Bethel.
